What is the PTA?

The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) at Arcola brings together parents, teachers, and staff to create a stronger, more connected school community. We work hand-in-hand to give every student the best experience possible—inside the classroom and beyond—with exciting events like field trips, clubs, and special programs.

But we’re more than just fundraising—we’re fun-raising too! Joining the PTA is a great way to meet other parents, stay engaged in your child’s education, and make a real difference at Arcola ES. Together, we can enrich learning, build connections, and make this school year unforgettable!

What am I expeced to do if I join? PTAs often need help with events & fundraisers such as manning the merchendise table, volunteering for the Fun Run, or offering professional skills or local connections.

Do I have to come to every meeting? Commitment is important for the PTA to work well, but as busy parents, we understand if you have to miss meetings sometimes!

How much time will the PTA take up? That’s up to you! We value your time, energy, and voice, and we appreciate any help you can give.

How much does it cost to join the PTA?? Most members pay $10 to join the PTA.
